Best of '09 Crush: Anngelle's Honor Roll

Anngelle Wood hosts Boston Emissions, which this year moved from WBCN (upon its demise) to WZLX. She also hosts the Rock 'N' Roll Rumble and gives me great haircuts at Floyd's Barbershop. (posted by Ashley Willard)

WBCN'ers Farewell at the Cask

with Deek, former WBCN night DJ

I did make it to the WBCN staff farewell show at Oliver's at the Cask on Friday night, 7/31/09 (albeit a little late as I was on-air at WZLX), caught up with so many from the station's days. Though I did miss many, it was great to see Ken Shelton, Oedipus (and Mrs. Oedipus), Albert O., Deek, Bill Bracken, Adam 12, Mark Hamilton, Hardy, Amy Brooks, Juanita, Cyndy Doll, Carmelita (who spent some years at "The Rock") and a few friends from my WFNX days - Meghan Goldstein and Laurie Gail!

Deek and Bill's band Age Against the Machine played while Mark Hamilton, Adam 12 and Juanita joined in with some performances of their own.

WBCN plans a multi-day on-air farewell with special guests beginning Sat, 8/8/09. This will be sad for Bostonians, and the legacy of rock radio, no matter how you feel about the current day WBCN. Sigh.

You MOOKS!

I'm at WBCN today, not to do a show of any sort but to do what I will call "oversee weekend programming."

I'm in the airstudio whose only view is of the basement level brickwall. Over my shoulder is this poster.

I'll miss it.
Can't say much for that brick wall.
